An empty Edinburgh city centre retail unit is set to be turned into a popular London-based Poke Bowl eatery.
The vacant unit, at 4 Hanover St, previously housed both Royal House of Scotland and Crabtree & Evelyn, has been the subject of plans lead by Island Poke to open up one of their popular poke bowl store's.
With various locations in London, Island Poke have emerged as one of the city's go-to lunch destinations where customers can customize their own bowl and bao buns.

A planning application has now been validated by the City of Edinburgh Council for the applicant, James Gould-Porter, to erect the Island Poke signage on the exterior of the property.
As luck would have it, Island Poke's trademark blue décor fits is the same as the previous two tenants have sided with, meaning there is not a huge deal of work planned for the building.
The listing is currently under offer on the Savills website, meaning a change of use could be set in stone. Island Poke recently opened their 15th venue in London, with most of their dishes based around fresh fish and vegetables.
Island Poke also went international opening their first restaurant in France in 2020.
One of the building's former tenants, Crabtree & Evelyn ceased their in-store trading in 2019 and have since become an online-only brand.
