Derry hurlers bid to win the Christy Ring Cup for the first time against two-time champions Meath in Saturday’s decider at Croke Park.
The Oak Leaf county have had great success on the pitch in recent weeks, winning the Ulster SFC and the Ulster MFC titles on penalties.
Now it is the turn of the senior hurlers to try and deliver some silverware and Johnny McGarvey’s side are seeking to turn the tables on the Royals having lost by two points in the round three meeting at Owenbeg.
Derry lost out in the 2015 and 2021 finals while Meath were champions in 2016 and 2019 and the winners of this year’s competition will replace 2022 Christy Ring Cup winners Kildare in next season’s Joe McDonagh Cup.
