Derry tech firm Alchemy has announced it is backing the Stendhal Festival this summer with sponsorship of its main 'Karma Valley Stage'.

The tech firm, which has a history of supporting local music and the arts, will be the first ever main stage sponsor for the Co Londonderry festival.

Acts such as the Wailers, Bell X1 and Newton Faulkner have already been announced for the festival set to happen July 6-8 at Ballymully Cottage Farm near Limavady, with more set to be announced.

Already a supporter of the arts through the Playhouse, Millennium Forum, and Les Foyer des Artistes in Derry, chief executive and founder of Alchemy Technologies John Harkin said: "As a company, we understand the huge value that the arts bring to communities, and the community aspect of Stendhal Festival really attracted us to getting involved with the event."

He continued: "The overall package the festival presents, promoting indigenous talent, allowing young people to broaden their horizons in relation to the arts, and allowing families to experience the arts together in a wonderful setting, make up the elements for a brilliant festival."
