Derry City are set to win the race to sign former Preston North End midfielder Adam O’Reilly.
The Cork-born youngster is believed to have jetted out to Spain to finalise his move, with the Candystripes beating a host of rival clubs to his signature.
O’Reilly spent last season on-loan at St Patrick’s Athletic - and while he impressed at Richmond Park, he was allowed by Preston to leave for free in this transfer window.

Champions Shamrock Rovers were also in the hunt for the 21-year-old, who joined Preston in 2016, as were St Pat’s and Cork City.
He made one Championship appearance for the Lilywhites in 2018 against Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, Dundalk have announced the signing of Archie Davies from Aldershot.
The 24-year-old right-back is a former Brighton academy prospect. His one first-team appearance also came against Villa - in a September 2019 League Cup tie.
“Things have moved really quickly over the past few days,” said Davies.
“Yesterday, I was just chilling at home and late last night I was on my way to the airport.
“It’s a good thing to get it done so quickly and I'm just looking forward to getting started properly now.”
