Derrick White has been among the most impactful Boston Celtics roster members this season. The veteran guard has formed a fearsome partnership with Jrue Holiday in the backcourt and has been among the most reliable offensive players on a star-studded team. As such, Celtics fans have been championing White as a potential All-Star.
During a recent episode of the “Green With Envy” podcast, White’s dad, Richard White, joined the show. In a wide-ranging interview, he discussed what the recognition of his son being named to an All-Star team would mean to his family.
Recently, the NBA released an updated table of who is in the top 10 per position for an All-NBA selection following the second round of fan voting. White sat seventh with 399,120 votes. The next update will be released on Thursday (Jan. 18.) The competition for an All-Star spot as a guard in the Eastern Conference is tough. Still, White has proven he deserves the recognition and holds an outside chance of being selected.
