Dermot O'Leary 'shouted at' as he halts This Morning in on-air blunder while Alison Hammond says 'who cares'

Dermot O'Leary found himself being 'shouted at' as he caused a sudden pause on This Morning when he took things a little too far. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Friday (June 30) alongside Alison Hammond.

And the pair were celebrating throughout the show ahead of London Pride this weekend. The studio had been decked out in rainbow pride flags and the show kicked off with a special performance from The Globe Girls.

To keep up the party spirit, a classic tune played out in the studio after each ad break which saw Alison and Dermot unable to contain their moves. But Dermot got too involved and ended up causing a bit of a problem for the show.

Dermot, 50 was quick to notice he'd lost his earpiece when busting out some of his energetic dance moves which led him to cry out: "Oh no!" before hs tarred down at the floor. Unsure what was going on, co-host Alison, 48, asked: "What's wrong? What have you done now?"

Dermot replied: "Oh no, my earpiece has fallen out. This always happens when I get stuck in." Not too bothered by what happened, Alison said: "Oh who cares? Who needs an earpiece?" But Dermot wasn't quite as confident as Alison as he replied: "Well, actually I do."

The former X Factor host was then instructed to search the floor of the studio in order to find the earpiece or face the wrath of those behind the scenes. And Dermot did confess that he was getting a telling off by producers when he added: "Oh yeah, they're shouting 'you will pick up that earpiece and put it back on'."

Last week, Alison and Dermot made viewers 'cry' as they hosted another special edition of This Morning to round off the week. The pair were back together after viewers had been watching Dermot fronting the show alongside Holly Willoughby for a couple of weeks following the shock exit of Phillip Schofield.

But as Alison and Dermot were brought back together last Friday, they had a big show on their hands as This Morning paid tribute to later singer, and fan of the show, George Michael who would have celebrated his 60th birthday last weekend. After remembering his life, celebrating his music and also announcing the track viewers have voted for as the nation's favourite George Michael song, singer Calum Scott was invited into the studio to perform his rendition of the George Michael classic, One More Try.

And it left This Morning viewers emotional as they rushed to Twitter afterwards to comment. @TraylorHolmes said: "Stunning tribute to George Michael from @calumscott and yes I’m crying #ThisMorning #GeorgeMichael." @fuzzybeepants tweeted: "Aw there will never be another George, but that was a really nice tribute. Well done Callum #ThisMorning."

@Umr3000 commented: "Beautiful tribute to the one and only George Michael by Calum Scott #ThisMorning." @QueenRhone posted: "@thismorning Calum Scott singing the George Michael song One More Try was amazing. Beautifully sang and so heartfelt. I was a bit emotional watching that #calumscott #georgemichael #thismorning." @Itt39354118 added: "The song and photo's of george Michael #thismorning," alongside a crying face and broken heart emoji.
