Dermot O'Leary was forced to address a rather epic blunder on Thursday's This Morning after one guest claimed the Queen recently had Covid.
Dermot and his co-host Alison Hammond invited Vanessa Feltz and Nicola Thorp onto the show to discuss the latest headlines, and the conversation soon turned to Her Majesty.
The foursome were chatting about the fact that the Queen had returned to her royal duties as she prepares for her Jubilee.
"We're gonna quick off with the Queen today," Alison began. "Just a reminder that she is 95-years-old and she is still quite frail, isn't she Nicola?"
"Bless her, yeah and she's just recovered from Covid don't forget," Nicola replied.
"We know that the Queen, she really cares about her service, she cares about her work, going out to visit people.
She's not been able to do that for the past week so this is a real opportunity for her to kind of lift her spirits," Nicola added.
However, just minutes later Dermot was forced to correct Nicola on something she had said.
Looking a bit awkward, the father-of-one said: "Just one correction Nicola, it's just been in my ear, I think you said the Queen had Covid. Obviously Prince Charles had Covid and we didn't know about..."
"Sorry! Of course, Prince Charles had Covid. I'm so sorry HM!" Nicola replied looking rather embarrassed.
Some viewers tuning in at home were not impressed with the blunder and took to Twitter to comment.
One person fumed: "Did this awful woman say “the Queen has just recovered from Covid”???? #Nicola #ThisMorning."
Someone else posted: "@thismorning The Queen DID NOT have Covid?? Who is this stupid woman on the TV?? #ThisMorning."
Another viewer tweeted: "Nicola you don’t know the Queen just had covid. Nonsense #ThisMorning."
And a fourth person added: "Since when did the Queen have covid? News to me #ThisMorning."
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
