Dermot Kennedy reacts to adorable video of toddler at secret gig

Dermot Kennedy has reacted to a heartwarming video of a toddler singing along at his secret Grafton Street gig on Tuesday night.

Zoe McGlade, who shared the sweet moment on TikTok, attended the impromptu concert along with her 3-year-old son. The toddler is a clear Dermot Kennedy superfan, as he was caught nailing the lyrics of the hit song ‘Better Days’ on video.

The cute footage immediately went viral, capturing the attention of the singer himself on the app. Dermot described the moment as “amazing” and shared the adorable clip with his Instagram followers.

Viewers were also touched by the little boy’s rendition and praised him in the comments section below. Some people even argued that he deserved a wider audience beyond Grafton Street.

The 3-year-old boy knew all the lyrics to Dermot's hit 'Better Days' (Zoe McGlade)

One person wrote: “Would love to see him on the Late Late Toy Show and get to sing with Dermot if he was on it.”

Another viewer added: “I think he is the best superfan going. Absolute cutie, bless him. I wonder if he’ll be a singer when he’s older.”

The little boy later found out that his hero had praised him online through a second video uploaded by his mam. The toddler, visibly delighted, gave a big "thank you" to Dermot Kennedy in front of the screen.

Dermot Kennedy’s surprise gig attracted thousands of fans across Dublin yesterday. The performance, which took place on the balcony of Bewley’s Cafe, was an homage to Dermot’s early days as a musician.

The Rathcoole native started out by busking on Grafton Street as a teenager, and said that returning to the area to perform in front of crowds felt “surreal.”

He also took the opportunity to promote other local performers while at yesterday’s lively gig. Dermot took a video of a young busker performing his hit “Kiss Me”, before uploading it to social media.
