Dermot Kennedy at Marlay Park: How to get there, banned items, stage times and setlist

Dermot Kennedy is gearing up to perform to thousands of fans at two massive gigs in Marlay Park this Friday, 23 June and Saturday, 24 June.

The 31-year-old Rathcoole native has in recent months toured across the UK, Canada and US. The platinum-selling artist is back on home soil in Dublin after the huge success of his latest album 'Sonder' which topped the charts last November.'

Fans will be belting out Dermot Kennedy's chart-topping songs 'Kiss Me,' 'Outnumbered', 'Better Days', 'Glory' and 'Something to Someone' this weekend at Marlay Park. He's also set to play Thormond Park in Limerick next month before continuing on his tour to Edinburgh in Scotland, Taipei in Thailand, and Newquay and London in the UK.

If you're heading to Dermot Kennedy's two gigs at Marlay Park on Friday and Saturday, here's everything you need to know from how to get to the venue, stage times, set list, weather and more.

How to get there

Promoters MCD are warning attendees to leave at least two hours to get to the venue at Marlay Park for Friday and Saturday. There are a number of ways to reach the venue:

Dublin Bus

There are a couple of Dublin Bus routes that can drop you off near Marlay Park. The number 14 and 75 bus will take you to Ballinteer Shopping Centre, then it's just a short 10 minute walk to the venue.

The numbers 16, 116, and 161 buses also serve the Grange Road entrances of Marlay Park close to the concert site.

Luas

The Luas green line will be running from the city centre to Dundrum and Balally. There's also a shuttle bus from Dundrum Luas station to Marlay Park departs every half hour from 2pm for both shows.

If you fancy a walk, it's a 35-minute stroll to Marlay Park from the Dundrum Luas stop.

Private bus coaches

A concert shuttle bus by Marathon Sports Travel is the most direct form of transport to the concert, and the drop-off point is directly outside Marlay Park.

Car

Concertgoers who are driving from the city centre can access the mark via Ranelagh, Clonskeagh, Goatstown, Sandyford, Grange Road and then onto College Road for car parks. If you're taking the M50, exit M50 at Junction 13 Interchange (Dundrum).

The car park entrance is located on College Road and is accessed via Whitechurch Road. Only those who have pre-booked parking will be permitted entry into the car park.

Are there any tickets left for the Marlay Park gigs?

Dermot Kennedy's two gigs at Marlay Park on Friday and Saturday appears to be sold out on Ticketmaster. However, there are some resale tickets available via Ticketmaster that are expected to be snapped up quickly by eager fans.

When do gates open?

According to MCD, gates open at 4pm on Friday and Saturday for the Dermot Kennedy gigs at Marlay Park. The support acts are expected to kick off from about 5pm.

Dermot Kennedy is likely to be on stage after 8pm each night, and his standard set usually lasts 90-plus minutes so to get public transport home it's best to be making your way out of the venue at around 10:30pm.

According to concert promoters MCD, overnight and early queuing is not allowed at Marlay Park. MCD has also warned ticketholders there are no re-admissions to gig, so if you leave you can't re-enter.

Who is supporting Dermot Kennedy at Marlay Park?

The support acts for the Dubliner's two Marlay Park gigs are David Kushner, Kingfishr and Nell Mescal, sister to Oscar-nominated actor Paul.

Banned items

Concertgoers are forbidden from bringing garden furniture, deckchairs, fold-up chairs, or shooting sticks into Marlay Park. Umbrellas, flagpoles, folding chairs, or alcohol will be confiscated at the ticket barriers.

Backpacks, bags over A4 size, professional cameras and recording equipment are also banned.

Weather

According to Met Eireann, Friday is set to be a wet day with outbreaks of "heavy rain and a chance of localised flooding" for some areas. Highest temperatures of 19 to 23 degrees with mostly moderate southerly winds.

Similarly, Saturday is also expected to be another wet day with temperatures reach 20 to 22 degrees.
