Dermot Desmond’s Celtic check in given the private status as John Kennedy goes poker faced

John Kennedy has been left in the dark over what was said between Celtic supremo and boss Ange Postecoglou.

The assistant coach was on media duties as the Hoops prepare for their penultimate home match of the Premiership against St Mirren on Saturday. But ahead of the game - the first Celtic have played at Parkhead since they claimed the league title - Desmond has been spotted back in Glasgow as Postecoglou's side prepare for a title party in nine days against Aberdeen. That's got fan theory tongues wagging over what the pair could be discussing.

Theories have ranged from Champions League targets to an increased transfer kitty for the upcoming transfer window. But whatever was discussed, Kennedy has been left in the dark, as the meeting between boss and owner was kept between them. A clash with St Mirren will be followed up by a game with Hibs before title day beckons against the Dons.

But no information could be produced on Desmond and Postecoglou's meeting. Kennedy simply said: “It was a meet up and a private chat.”
