Village residents say a pub which has remained derelict for over two years is "crying out" to be renovated and reopened. The Manvers Arms in Main Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent, closed in December 2019 and has remained shut ever since.
The pub was set to receive a major makeover but it was revealed last year that the new licensee had dropped out, meaning reopening plans for Autumn 2021 never materialised. The refurbishment would have included a facelift both outside - where the signs have fallen off - with a new alfresco dining area and and inside, with improvements to each of the three bars, a new kitchen and better toilets.
However, with summer approaching, the pub remains fenced off and completely closed to the public. For those who live nearby, there is still real hope that the once hugely popular pub can be brought back to life again.
