Derek McInnes hopes that Scott Robinson can be like a new signing when he eventually returns.
The Kilmarnock attacker was injured during McInnes’ first match way back in January, and countless setbacks to his foot injury mean he’s yet to return for the Rugby Park side.
But McInnes is hopeful he will be back in full training within two months.
McInnes told the Kilmarnock Standard: “He’s actually improving well, he’s got the boot off now and he’s working away fine.
“He’s been doing match reports on the opposition for me which keeps him interested in the game, and he’s still coming to our games when he can.
“I think the plan would be for him to get back to full training before the World Cup, so we are hoping by the time we come out of that break that he’ll be available.
“It will be like a new signing, when I looked at the squad when I came in to this job he was one of the players I was looking forward to working with.
“I think he has the capability and the tools to play in the Premiership. “
