Derek McInnes addresses yellow card after Celtic vs Rangers dugout confrontation

Derek McInnes has addressed the yellow card he was shown after a dugout confrontation during Celtic vs Rangers.

The Ibrox boss was flashed a booking by referee John Beaton in the first half, with Celtic coach Mark Fotheringham also cautioned over the furious exchange.

McInnes could be seen in heated discussion with the fourth official before a shouting match with Fotheringham on the sidelines at Celtic Park.

It's unclear what sparked the clash but Sky Sports camera caught the angry exchange in the technical area.

McInnes looked to be signalling to the fourth official before Fotheringham was involved in the altercation.

Martin O'Neill appeared to try and usher Fotheringham away as he and McInnes continued to exchange verbals on the touchline.

Quizzed on the yellow card after the match, which Rangers won 1-0, McInnes said: "It was 3-1 against me - and there was only two bookings...

"I was probably just sticking up for my team."
