A "larger than life" grandma has sadly passed away at the age of 49. Karen Linton, of Heanor, passed away on Monday, August 22, and was described by family and friends in tributes as being able to "light up any room."
Her daughter, Courtney Linton, said: "She was the fieriest person you'd ever meet in your life, she was just full of life and a really lively character. There was nobody in a room she couldn't make laugh, she was a full-on bubbly character.
"She wasn't afraid to say it how it was. My two-year-old Aurora was the apple of my mum's eye, she absolutely loved her to bits. She always said she wanted a granddaughter" reports Derbyshire Live.

Karen was found by her brother and Courtney unconscious in her Derbyshire home and was taken to hospital, sadly she never woke up and her family believes that she suffered a brain bleed and decomposition of her liver. However, an exact cause of death is still to be determined.
Courtney, 26, had decided to visit her mother's home with her uncle after she had not heard from her mum, who she usually messaged with regularly. Upon arriving, the pair found Karen unconscious.
She said: "We took her out into the hall and put her in the recovery position. Watching her lay there like that was horrific."
Karen was taken to Royal Derby Hospital and put in intensive care, where she was sedated so that doctors could perform tests. The sedation was planned to be turned off once Karen had been nursed back to health, but once this happened, she sadly never woke up.
Courtney said: "My mum did have a number of health problems for some years, but we never expected that this was going to happen. I just thought, 'oh she'll go in, get some treatment, and she'll come out again'.
"I just had no idea they were going to tell me she wasn't going to wake up again." Family and friends want to give Karen the send-off they feel she deserves and have started a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for her funeral.
The page was set up by a friend of Courtney's, Laura Bassnett, on Wednesday, August 24, and has so far raised £410. In the appeal, Laura said: "Courtney and the family have a lot of weight on their shoulders, and if anyone can kindly donate anything it would be massively appreciated.
"Losing Karen has been a sudden and tragic time for the family and friends. Let's stick together and help the family out if we can." If you wish to donate to the family's GoFundMe page it can be found here.
