
Dan Shapiro, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East and a former ambassador to Israel, is currently in Israel for a series of security meetings, as confirmed by the Pentagon on Monday.
Shapiro, who previously served as the US ambassador to Israel during the Obama administration, arrived in Israel on Sunday for a two-day visit. According to deputy Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh, Shapiro's agenda includes meetings with the new Israeli Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, along with other key security and intelligence officials.
