Departing Corrie star looked pretty in pink as she said her goodbyes and bagged a set memento.

Departing Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell channelled her soap character in a pretty pink outfit.

The actress, who is best known for playing Emma Brooker in the ITV soap, is waving goodbye to the Weatherfield for pastures new after four years.

The news was announced earlier this month and Alexandra has already enjoyed her leaving do.

Her final scenes are being filmed this month and Emma's exit will be shown on-screen in April.

But there has already been a hint of what's to come as Alexandra, 28, was snapped filming with Jordan Ford Silver who first appeared in the soap last month as Ted's grandson.

Taking to Instagram following her farewell at a bar close to the Corrie set at MediaCity, the soap star showed how she paid homage to her character.

"It had to be pink," she commented alongside the snaps of her posing in a hot pink dress with puffed sleeves and tied waist.

She paired the look with a pair of black open-toe heels that were patterned with silver stars.

And fans were loving it.

"Pink is your colour! Good luck for the future and your acting roles as well. You have a lot of talent xx will miss Emma," @allforcorrie said.

@tippey1959 wrote: "Pretty in pink."

"Looking pink and perfect babes," @ianedmonds30 commented.

@missellarose_ added: "Pink is your colour."

Alexandra has since taken to Instagram to show her saying goodbyes to Emma's brightly coloured, and very pink, wardrobe.

Alongside a snap of the rails of clothes, the Leeds actress said: "Goodbye pink wardrobe."

She also shared one of the momentous she'll be taking with her.

On another Instagram Story she shared an image of a mug which was emblazoned with the words: "Boss babe."

"Get to keep Emma's mug," Alexandra wrote alongside the post which also featured a card that read: "To Al, love the Art Dept."

Alexandra's leaving do featured a star-studded line-up including Coronation Street favourites Simon Gregson, who plays her on-screen dad Steve McDonald, Elle Mulvaney, who plays her half-sister Amy Barlow, Kate Ford, known for playing Tracy Barlow, and Colson Smith, who plays her flatmate Craig Tinker.

Other Corrie stars flocking to Alexandra's bash were on-screen couples Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgley) and Rob Mallard (Daniel Osbourne), Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby), and Charlie de Melo (Imran Habeeb as well as Mollie Gallagher and Tanisha Gorey who play Nina Lucas and Asha Alahan.

Kimberly Hart-Simpson who is returning to our screens as Daniel Osbourne's former love interest Nicky Wheatley, Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Ramsey, Alya Nazir actress Sair Khan, Gary Windass actor Mikey North and Kel Allen, who plays Laura Neelan, also gathered for Alexandra's big soap send-off.

"Face ache from smiling and hardly any photos are a sign of a fab night! Can we do it again?" she wrote alongside a series of brilliant photos from the night out.

Many of her guests also took to social media with their own snaps.
