Anthony Joshua is pushing to finally make a fight with Deontay Wilder as he waits for updates on his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
The Brit is still focused on a second bout with the unified champion Usyk, but with the current situation in Ukraine, he may have to settle for another fight in the meantime.
And he has told promoter Eddie Hearn that he would like to make a fight that couldn't be done for years when he and Wilder held all the belts in the division.
Joshua's team made a number of big money offers to attempt to entice Wilder into an undisputed title fight, but the American opted instead to fight Tyson Fury and Luis Ortiz on a number of separate occasions.
And despite the fact that now neither man holds a belt, the fight is still a massive draw worldwide, and could satisfy fans who were hoping to see Joshua face Usyk again within the next two or three months.
"We've got to look at the opponents," Hearn told iFL TV of the possible next moves for Joshua. "I think AJ was talking about Luis Ortiz or Otto Wallin.
"A southpaw, the same as Usyk, might make sense, Joe Joyce, he's talked about Deontay Wilder.
"I think if you said to AJ right now 'who's your top choice', he'd probably go for Deontay Wilder, it's a big fight."
However, the risks involved with facing Wilder, a former world heavyweight champion who is one of the most feared punchers in the sport's history, could make it more than your standard "interim" fight.
Hearn would love to make the fight happen, but understands that Joshua fighting Wilder would put his obligated fight with Usyk in jeopardy due to the possible outcome.
But Joshua is no stranger to fighting the best in the world, holding wins over the likes of Wladimir Klitschko and Dillian Whyte on his record.

"Let's be honest, it's not an interim fight is it?" Hearn continued. "It could be bigger than a fight with Usyk.
"Everyone thinks I'm always just championing AJ or whatever, but this guy has proved time and time again that he has no fear of fighting any of these people.
"A name that was mentioned recently was Trevor Bryan, and when I said that to AJ he came back with 'what about Wilder? What about Ortiz?'
"He's all about legacy, resume, challenges and we're lucky as fans to have him because do you know how many people right now would go 'give me an easy touch, someone I can knock over in a round and then we'll move on to Usyk'?
"He's calling out the top five, top 10, so he's given me a wishlist of fighters that he would like to enquire about.
"I've said to him 'let's just deal with Usyk, give him the respect' and if this interim bout is a possibility we'll move on and start looking to secure an opponent."
