Deocha Pachami land givers to receive thrice plot value, says West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

KOLKATA/SURI: Land givers in the Deocha Pachami-Dewanganj-Harisingha coal block in Birbhum will receive nearly three times the prevailing market price of their land, with the state government announcing on Monday an extra 100% payout, over and above the double-market rate compensation that was already on offer.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee, after a cabinet meeting on Monday, underlined the huge job potential of the project and made it clear that the government wouldn't forcibly take over land.
