Denys Berinchyk makes ring walk in Ukrainian army uniform on Tyson Fury undercard - amid Russian invasion

A Ukrainian boxer fighting on Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora's undercard this evening, walked to the ring donning a full military uniform, amid the country's ongoing conflict with a neighbouring Russia - who invaded in February this year.

Denys Berinchyk faced Yvan Mendy in a Lightweight bout prior to tonight's main event at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - opting to pay tribute to those who continue to defend his homeland.

And the 34-year-old silver Olympic medallist received cheers from the London crowd as he made the ringwalk, but also accrued massive amounts of praise from those watching on around the world.

The Daily Star reports that one fan took to social media to write: "That's tough af," while another, added: "As expected, Denys Berinchyk with a brilliant walk out performance." Ukraine has a proud and polished boxing history, with World Heavyweight champion Wladimir Kitschko and his brother Vitali both hailing from the country.

Current heavyweight ruler Oleksandr Usyk is also a Ukrainian native, with all three being involved in the fight back against Putin's Russia - as conflict continues in their homeland. The ongoing war is also continuing to wreak havoc all across the globe, with energy prices rising as a repercussion of supply cut-offs.

In the ring tonight, Berinchyk secured a comfortable points victory over Mendy - to add the European Lightweight strap to his WBO International belt by unanimous decision. Fury, on the other hand, is looking for a third victory over Chisora - after failing to land a fight with Usyk or rival Anthony Joshua.

While Chisora goes into the match as a severe underdog, he has promised not to take a backwards step - hoping to pull off one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.

Speaking before the fight, he said: "On Saturday I'm going to go to war. There's no two ways about it. I want to take what's his and make it mine. Physically and mentally.

"I can guarantee you, you are going to love the whole show we are going to put up. It's not going to be stinker, it's going to be a great fight."
