Video of Glasgow 'machete gang attack' emerges as man fights for life in hospital


Footage has emerged of what appears to be a gang attacking a man with machetes in the east end of Glasgow.

It shows a group of five on a grassy verge on a residential street in Dennistoun seemingly hitting the man with weapons as he screams in agony, reports the Daily Record.

The worrying video emerged as a 22-year-old fights for his life in hospital following what police have described as "a disturbance' in Cardross Court at 8.20pm on Tuesday night,

Police say a 27-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the incident.

The east end street was sealed off as cops examined the area, with officers standing guard outside a block of flats.

Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.20pm on Tuesday, May 30, police were called to a disturbance in Cardross Court, Dennistoun Glasgow.

"A 22-year-old man was found injured following the incident and was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

"A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing."
