Denise Welch has caused no shortage of controversy after referring to Queen Camilla as King Charles' 'side piece' during a conversation on Loose Women. And, while many people are furious at Denise's remark, others have voiced their support for her opinion.
As the ITV lunchtime show aired an episode on Easter Monday, Denise took her seat on the panel including Jane Moore and Brenda Edwards, when the topic of King Charles III's impending Coronation was raised by Jane, who took on the role of host.
Jane sought her Loose Women colleagues' opinion on whether or not they were excited for the historic event as the heading 'Are you looking forward to the Coronation' appeared along the bottom of the screen.
Being very open about the fact that she was struggling to get onboard with the the anticipation surrounding the Coronation, Denise responded: "I feel like a lot of people, the monarchy isn’t the same since the Queen died.

"I’m trying to get some enthusiasm for the coronation and I haven’t got any. I am not particularly a Camilla fan. I just think, and I am not moralising, I've had a past."
The former Waterloo Road star continued: "But the fact is that I just think she was there from the beginning of his marriage to Diana and I think it is disrespectful to, certainly Prince Harry and William," before adding: ""I can't get over that she was the sidepiece."
It was revealed last week, as a photo of the official invitation for King Charles' Coronation was published, that Camilla will be known as Queen for the Coronation and beyond, shedding her current Queen Consort title.
And Denise's scathing dig in her direction did not land well with many people who saw Loose Women. Taking to Twitter, one fumed: "Who cares what Denise Welch thinks. William and Harry are grown men and William has a fine relation with Camilla, and Harry used to -PreMeghan.." Also strongly against Denise's take on things, a second tweeted: "Queen Camilla, Denise needs to,learn some respect."
However, as controversial as Denise's opinion might have been, some Twitter users said they agreed with her, with one commenting: "first time I agree with Denise. Camilla being crowned is first time I won’t be watching a Royal event. Having lived in London at the time of interviews and Diana death I just can’t stomach watching her with the crown"
Also defending Denise, another replied: "I just want to say I am with Denise 1000% I can’t get interested in the coronation I can’t come to terms with Camilla becoming my queen"
