It has been confirmed that Denise Van Outen will make a sensational return to hit TV show The Big Breakfast when it relaunches on Channel 4 this week. The former host will hand over the reins to new presenters Mo Gilligan and AJ Odudu.
The TV presenter and actress hosted it in its heyday alongside Johnny Vaughan between 1997 and 2001, and will officially pass the baton this Saturday. And after a trial one-off special back in 2021, the much-loved programme will return for the next four Saturdays.
Denise told The Sun : "I spent some of the happiest times of my career on The Big Breakfast and I’m so excited to be popping in to see the brilliant AJ and Mo for the first show of the new series. I can’t think of a better way to kick-start my Saturday."
When it comes to breakfast telly, The Big Breakfast defies the rules - with its original riotous spirit and joyful energy, the live two and a half hour show will see Mo and AJ joined bright and early by brilliant guests to dissect the hot topics of the day.
AJ said: "There really is nothing like The Big Breakfast on our screens. I loved hosting it last year and I am looking forward to being back at the house to kick off summer weekends on this now award-winning show."
Mo added: "I love being part of this incredible history making show. The whole team are so spectacular, and I have so much fun working with AJ - she’s one of the best in the business. And now a live summer series? LET’S GO!"
The Big Breakfast will start on Channel 4 on Saturday, August 13, from 10am and will continue for four weeks.
