Denise Van Outen can’t wait to bring her Discolicious brunch party to Scotland for the first time and says it has special memories as she revealed it is the place she first found out she was pregnant.
The voice of TOWIE and former Big Breakfast presenter who has since appeared on Eastenders, Strictly, and Steph’s Packed Lunch is hosting Scotland’s first Discolicious Brunch on Sunday, August 27 at Ingliston Estate and Country Club in Bishopton.
Denise says she has always loved the clubbing scene in and around Glasgow but it is Edinburgh which has extra special memories for her.
Denise, who is mum to 13 year old Betsy, her child with actor ex husband Lee Mead, explained: “Oh, I love Scotland. I mean, I found out that I was pregnant when I did the Edinburgh Festival in 2009. I've always got a special memory of being here because I was doing the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
She added: "And all I remember about the time was because I was doing a one woman show and I just kept craving cheese and onion crisps, and I thought what is wrong with me? And my friend said to me, ‘Why don't you do a pregnancy test?’ and I discovered that I was pregnant in Edinburgh so I was like, wow, that's why I keep eating cheese and onion crisps.”
Ingliston in Renfrewshire, where Denise will be bringing her party, has recently undergone a multimillion pound development and hosts a giant event marquee which has a capacity to spaciously seat 500 people.
The ultimate party is based on a concept created by Denise and her best pal Jemma Bolt, and Denise and her glam posse will take over the venue for the big bash which plans to unite all on the dance floor.
As well as a glass of bubbly on arrival, guests will also enjoy a two course meal and an exclusive DJ set from the two ladies as well as fun and frolics from one of Scotland’s foremost drag queens.
An excited Denise, who was last pictured in Glasgow at Eusebi Deli after filming a TV show in the city, said: “I can’t wait to bring the party to Scotland for the first time. We will have lots of fun on the day with great food and drinks, music, and some frolics courtesy of my divas. Scottish crowds are always up for a giggle and this will be a fab event to blow away some the cobwebs.”
Ingliston estate’s new head of events manager Lynne McDermott who has worked in Ibiza, Dubai and at festival events throughout the world said: “Denise is bringing her brand new concept to Scotland for the first time and it’s the ultimate day out. We can’t wait to have her party in our new Grand Marquee, a permanent structure that can comfortably seat 500 people. Its splendid drapes and crystal chandeliers set a new standard in this much desired form of venue in Scotland.”
Tickets for the Discolicious Brunch which takes place from 2-8pm are on sale now, priced at £45 per person can be found here.
