Denise Van Outen's ex-partner Eddie Boxshall posts sweary message following split

Denise Van Outen's ex partner Eddie Boxshall has shared a sweary message on Instagram following their split. A defiant Eddie took to social media to post a foul-mouthed message.

He posted a meme with a cartoon fist-bump including a message about moving on. "Unf*** yourself," it said. "Be who you were before all the stuff happened that dimmed your f***ing shine."

And Eddie wrote next to the post: "Be who you were!!" This was followed by a winking emoji a fist bump and the hashtags "#dontchange" and "#getyourshineback."

In a candid chat with Zoe Ball on Radio 2 last week, Denise addressed relationships coming to an end in an interview about her new autobiography A Bit of Me: From Basildon to Broadway, and Back. Zoe asked Denise about 'talking very candidly' about relationships in the book as well as work situations. And mum-of-one Denise told her that it's important, as a role model to her 11-year-old daughter, to know when to walk away.

"You've talked very candidly about your relationships and work situations," said Zoe. "Some of the things that happened to you through the job that you've done I think will really shock people and surprise people and it's not always an easy ride in this industry."

Denise told her: "The one thing I’m really proud of myself for is I do know when to walk away and I don’t like to be taken advantage of.

"Sometimes it’s been to the detriment of my own career or in my own relationships, but I just feel like it’s really important as a woman to have self-worth and self-respect."

Denise, who shot to fame in the nineties as the presenter of the Channel Four morning show The Big Breakfast and went on to become a West End and Broadway star, confirmed she had split from her partner of seven years in January.

She and city trader Eddie were regularly seen together on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox.

"Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie," she wrote on her Instagram.

"It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship. I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made.

"We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children."

Denise shares Betsy with her ex husband fellow musical theatre star Lee Mead, while Eddie has two grown-up children from a previous relationship.
