Denise Richards ‘grateful to be safe’ after being shot at in LA

Denise Richards has said she is "grateful to be safe" after being shot at during a road rage incident in Los Angeles.

The 51-year-old actress was being driven to work by her husband Aaron Phypers on November 14 when another driver in a gold and maroon van began following their Ford truck and allegedly opened fire at it.

TMZ reported that Phypher was struggling to find Popsicle Studio where the actress was meant to be working, and the driver behind them got impatient and got into a rage.

Taking to Instagram to thank her fans for their support on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day in the US and a week after the incident, the  Wild Things star wrote: "I want to give my sincerest thanks to all who have reached out to me and Aaron during this time.

"We are both very grateful to be safe.

"The love and support from all of you has been overwhelming!! We are so thankful for each and every one of you."

Fans in turn took to her comment section to share their well wishes.

One follower wrote: "That was so scary and crazy. Glad at least you’re here to tell the tale."

Another said: "Wishing you an amazing Thanksgiving. A very special one for you. God bless."

A third commented: "The gun situation here is insane. I’m so happy you and you guys are unharmed."

A representative for Richards confirmed to NBC News that no one was harmed following the terrifying incident.
