A businessman who has risen through the ranks at a West Yorkshire catering company after joining as a teenager is set to take it forward following the founder’s retirement.
After launching Wakefield based Denby Catering Equipment more than 20 years ago, managing director George Hartley is retiring and handing over the reins of the firm to former accounts and service manager Richard Garfitt, following the completion of a management buy out (MBO).
Mr Garfitt, 29, joined the business ten years ago in an office administration and purchase ledger role, going on to manage client accounts and become involved in all aspects of the company’s operations.
