A group of Democrats has launched a TV ad campaign urging President Joe Biden to step down from the Democratic ticket. The newly-formed super PAC, Pass The Torch, is behind this initiative. The TV ad is set to run on MSNBC during 'Morning Joe' and daytime hours in the Washington, DC, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, media markets. President Biden is currently self-isolating at his residence in Rehoboth Beach after testing positive for Covid-19.

The ad features individuals expressing gratitude to Biden for defeating former President Donald Trump in 2020. They are asking Biden to make way for a new nominee who can bring fresh energy to the party. The message in the ad emphasizes the need for a nominee who can instill hope and prevent Trump from returning to the White House.

Pass The Torch co-founder Aaron Regunberg stated that the group plans to reserve ad slots on MSNBC on an ongoing basis, with the intention to halt the campaign if Biden chooses to step aside. The group has not disclosed the amount of money being spent on airing the ads.

Regunberg emphasized the group's appreciation for Biden's past contributions and urged him to pass the torch to a new leader. The plan is to continue airing the ads on Biden's preferred programs until an official announcement is made regarding his decision to step down.
