Democrats supporting Rep. Colin Allred's challenge against Texas Sen. Ted Cruz have announced a $5 million investment in an ad campaign centered on abortion rights. This move is seen as a strategic late-campaign effort to target what has traditionally been considered a safe Republican seat.

The Senate Majority PAC revealed this initiative at a crucial juncture when Democrats are facing tough battles across the country to retain control of the Senate. With several Democratic candidates running in states expected to lean towards Republican nominee Donald Trump, the competition is intense.
