Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was joined by five Democratic governors at a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris' event. The governors in attendance included New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, and Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey.

During the rally, Governor Whitmer emphasized the importance of having a president who supports all Americans and works towards the betterment of the states they represent. She expressed her belief that Vice President Harris is the candidate who will prioritize the well-being of citizens and strive to improve living and working conditions across the country.

The appearance of the governors comes as part of a bus tour organized by the Blue Wall governors - Whitmer, Evers, and Shapiro. The tour aims to showcase Vice President Harris' policies to voters in the Midwest and draw a distinction from former President Donald Trump in the lead-up to Election Day.

Governor Whitmer recently launched an ad campaign in Michigan criticizing Trump for his negative remarks about Detroit's revival. The ad highlights the resilience of Detroit and its residents, countering Trump's portrayal of the city as a failure. Trump's comments comparing Detroit to a developing nation if Harris were to become president have been met with strong opposition from Whitmer and other Democratic leaders.

The rally and subsequent campaign efforts underscore the ongoing political discourse surrounding the upcoming election and the contrasting visions presented by the Democratic and Republican parties.
