He voiced his doubts that such a move would be successful, stating that while it may pass in the House, it is unlikely to gain traction in the Senate. Instead, Cuellar believes that attention should be directed towards addressing the pressing issues at hand.
Adding to his concerns, Cuellar pointed out that many of his Republican colleagues have shown reluctance to support funding for important initiatives, including homeland security appropriations. However, he criticized their sudden call to impeach the Secretary of State. Cuellar suggested that it would be more productive to focus on a bipartisan proposal that has gained support in the Senate.
