Demi Moore. The iconic actress was the pinup of the 80s, made a full-throttle return in the early noughts when she showed off her killer body in a red bikini in her forties in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and is now enjoying a career resurgence in her sixties. First playing a swan in Fued: Truman Capote vs. The Swans and now starring in the new gory hory drama The Substance.
The film, directed by Coralie Fargeat, made its debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where it was selected to compete for the famed Palme d'Or, also stars Margaret Qualley (daughter of Andie MacDowell) and Dennis Quaid. The Substance received an 11-minute standing ovation after its premiere and the buzz is now that Moore is tipped to win an Oscar. In the film, the 61-year-old who plays Elizabeth Sparkle, an aging celebrity who turns to a black-market drug to create a younger version of herself (played by Qualley) displays full-frontal nudity. An experience the actress described as "vulnerable". Crediting costar Margaret Qualley for putting her at ease as she bared all, Moore told Variety, "I had someone who was a great partner who I felt very safe with."
