A new dementia organisation has announced the launch of clinical trials that will assist Irish Alzeimher's patients over the next five years.
The organisation’s co-founder Sean Kennelly spoke to RTE’s Morning Ireland about the group’s plans to tackle the disease in Ireland. There will be trials available for those who are newly diagnosed as well as those with more advanced symptoms of the condition.
Sean told RTE listeners: “This is a very exciting announcement. It will develop an infrastructure to conduct clinical trials for dementia, the same way we do for people with cancer. There’s only a few places doing trials at the moment, the majority of which are Dublin based.”
