The Carolina Panthers have been very public with their interest in the top-4 quarterbacks of the 2023 NFL draft. However, the Houston Texans are taking a different approach.
Let the talent come to them.
According to Aaron Wilson from KPRC-TV, coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed at the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix that the club will bring in both Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and Alabama quarterback Bryce Young for a visit at NRG Stadium.
Texans assistant director of player personnel and college scouting director told reporters on March 17 that both Stroud and Young were “good dudes.”
“Those are guys, along with a lot of guys in this draft, they check a production box and they’re both good dudes,” Liipfert said. “I’ve talked to both of them, and I would say they’re both good guys. I like both of them. Just a part of the combine process and again meeting them there along with several other quarterbacks and a lot of other positions. Again, I don’t want to get into strengths and weaknesses, but those guys, tip of the cap to their programs. They came in as two young bucks from California to the state of Alabama and the state of Ohio. That’s easier said than done in two big time programs, and they both did a nice job. I enjoyed watching these last couple of years, and we’ll see what their future holds.”
The Texans have formal visits with Stroud and Young at the NFL combine.
