New England Patriots wide receiver Demario Douglas may have dodged a serious injury in Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Douglas took a brutal hit from Giants linebacker Cam Brown when he was returning a punt in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 10-7 loss. He went to the on-field medical tent and was doubtful to return for the rest of the game.
The injury left New England without one of their most productive players on Sunday. Douglas recorded six catches for 49 yards, along with three punt returns on the afternoon.
The performance on Sunday added to what has been a strong season for Douglas. He currently has 36 catches for 410 yards on the year.
The Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan had a positive update on Douglas’ health following the game.
Just spoke to Demario Douglas. He said he does not have a concussion and is doing OK.

Douglas has emerged as one of New England’s most reliable receivers. The rookie sixth-round pick could have a bright future for a Patriots team that has been searching for a player to fill the Julian Edelman and Wes Welker role on offense.
