Chicago Bulls All-Star DeMar DeRozan became the 50th player in NBA history — 54th counting the ABA — to score 20,000 career points.
DeRozan scored the 20K-point club clinching bucket with his patented midrange pull-up jumper with 5:43 remaining in the first-quarter on Friday against his former team, the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs immediately called timeout to congratulate DeRozan on the milestone.

DeRozan was asked about joining the 20K points club following Wednesday night’s game as he fell just 7 points short of the milestone in the win against Indiana.
“I wanted to save it for Pop,” DeRozan joked after Wednesday’s victory. “Going back to a place that I spent some time, learned so much from, a place that embraced me, wasn’t nothing but love. And it was definitely a learning curve for me in my career at a critical time in my career — and Pop really helped me a lot in my career. I think it’ll be cool to be able to do it there.”
DeRozan joins current players in LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, and Stephen Curry in the club.
