Demand grows for festival special train between Bengaluru-Mangaluru

MANGALURU: Paschima Karavali Railway Yatri Abhivridhi Samiti has requested the general manager, South Western Railway, Hubballi, to introduce a festival special train between Bengaluru and Mangaluru for Deepavali.

Hanumantha Kamath, president of the Samithi and DRUCC member, Southern Railway, said we have made a formal request to the South Western Railway to kindly consider operating a special overnight train service for Deepavali festival. This service is proposed for November 10, starting from Bengaluru, and returning on November 11 from Mangaluru. We believe that such a service would greatly benefit travellers during the festive season. The special train may start from Yesvantpur/Bengaluru City and during the return trip, it may start as train number 07304 MAJN-YPR special service, which may start from Mangaluru Junction at 1 pm, he said.
