Dem governor posts Kristi Noem ‘in memoriam’ after brutal firing

Kristi Noem Gavin Newsom Donald Trump

California Gov. Gavin Newsom wasted no time bidding adieu to ousted Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Newsom posted on TikTok shortly after the news broke President Donald Trump was replacing Noem with U.S. Sen. Markwayne Mullin to run the department.
“Gone, but not forgotten,” Newsom captioned the post with photos of Noem wearing military garb with “In Memoriam 2025-2026” across the photos.
Other Dems also mocked Noem, including Rep. Ilhan Omar, posting a similar tribute to Taylor Swift lyrics.
Trump announced Noem’s firing on Truth Social Thursday moments before she took the stage at a law enforcement conference in Nashville. She reportedly learned of the new title moments before her remarks.
