The scandal took France by storm, with Delon questioned by police and his friend, gangster François Marcantoni, spending a year in prison charged with the killing before he was released and the case dropped. But with bank robbers splashed across the front pages alongside film stars, and the biggest star of all, Delon, mixing with gangsters, were these two worlds as disparate as they appeared?
