North West companies with operations across the region have announced a string of top hires and promotions over the last seven days.
The likes of global professional services giants and law firms are among those to have made major moves.

WestBridge
Peter Barkley, who joined WestBridge in 2019 to head its Manchester office, has been promoted to partner.
He joins James MacLeay, Ed Minton and Rory Whitrow in London who have been promoted.
Managing partner Guy Davies said: "We have created a strong, close knit and collaborative team at WestBridge that is laser focused on identifying and partnering with strong management teams of attractive niche businesses.

Palatine
Manchester-headquartered private equity firm Palatine has welcomed three team members to its partnership and promoted a further four.
The company has promoted Andy Strickland in London and Manchester-based Tom Ross-Jones and Sam Fazakerley to its partnership.
Tom Wildig and James Painter have been promoted to senior investment director in the buyout team and Greg Holmes has become an investment director in the impact team . Jeanne Capouillez has been promoted to senior executive assistant.
Group managing partner Gary Tipper said: "Being able to reward our fantastic colleagues and recognise growth and development through these promotions is far and away the most satisfying outcome of what has been an incredibly busy and productive year for Palatine."
Squire Patton Boggs
Squire Patton Boggs has hired partners Lee Norman and Ben Johnson into its litigation practice in Manchester.
They join the firm from DWF, where Mr Norman was head of its commercial litigation team in the city.
UK head of litigation Stephen Sampson said: "Lee and Ben form part of our strategy to broaden and diversify our practice,” said UK head of Litigation.
"Market conditions have led to an uptick in demand for contentious and regulatory services, and the expansion of our Corporate and Financial Services teams has also created new opportunities to grow our disputes offering.
"Lee and Ben are important additions, complementing our recent London hires and helping us to further develop our services in this field."
Teledata
Following its acquisition by Datum Datacentres in September 2022, Manchester data centre operator Teledata has started the new year with the announcement of four internal staff promotions.
Seb Graham, former commercial development manager for Teledata has been promoted to group head of sales for the Datum Group.
Vicki Edgley, HR manager for Teledata, has taken the role of head of people for the group. Anna Nicholls, former head of marketing for Teledata, has been promoted to group head of marketing and Lee Veitch, Teledata’s data centre supervisor, has been promoted to data centre manager at Teledata.
Director Matt Edgley said: "Teledata’s acquisition by Datum Datacentres presents a huge opportunity for growth, both at a business level and for our team.
"As we continue to expand our operations as a group with a national presence, it’s essential that we have the right people in roles.
"We’re proud to announce these very well-deserved staff promotions as we continue to build an outstanding team of people that is dedicated to providing enterprise-class service."
Nichols plc
Nichols, the company behind soft drinks Vimto and Slush Puppie, has appointed a new non-executive chairman.
Elizabeth (Liz) McMeikan will initially join the Newton-le-Willows-headquartered group as a non-executive director on February 1 before becoming non-executive chair on April 26.
She said: "Nichols plc is an outstanding business with a proud history and exciting future prospects. I am both delighted and honoured to be given this opportunity to take over as the company's next chair.
"I look forward to joining the company and working closely with my new colleagues to contribute to the group's continued, sustainable success."
Modern Milkman
Lancashire-headquartered Modern Milkman has announced the appointment of Anwar Sultan as chief growth and commercial officer.
He was formerly the chief digital and strategy officer for Ello Group, where he spent nearly five years as a board director.
Prior to that, he spent two years at THG as global marketing director.
He said: "I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Modern Milkman and want to thank Simon and the senior team for bringing me into the fold.
"I feel now is a fantastic time to join as the brand continues to go from strength-to-strength and I am overjoyed to be playing a part in the incredible projects that are in the pipeline for 2023.

eStar
eStar, the Mercedes-Benz Truck and Van franchise partner in the North West and North Wales, has welcomed Kate Carter as head of truck sales.
She joins after working for three and a half years at MAN Truck & Bus UK, and four years at the Mercedes-Benz Truck dealer that eStar took over. Most recently, she was a key account manager for IVECO UK.
She said: "I’m looking forward to working with such a respected team and supporting some of the UK’s most exciting truck operators. eStar has certainly made waves in the industry, so it’s exciting to be a part of this growing business."
Pearson Solicitors & Financial Advisers
Oldham law firm Pearson Solicitors & Financial Advisers has added to its employment law department with a triple appointment from Linder Myers Solicitors.
Alan Lewis joins as a partner as well as Ben Williams, an employment solicitor and Robyn Saunders, a paralegal.
Mr Lewis said: "Having worked in Manchester and led a national team of employment lawyers for many years, I decided to make a move to my home town.
"I have kept a close track on Pearson over the years and have always been impressed with the depth of legal expertise that the practice offers, which easily rivals many city centre firms."
Sportive Breaks
Former professional cyclist Matthew Holmes has joined Manchester-based Sportive Breaks.
The company offers travel packages for cyclists looking to take part in Europe’s most prestigious events, including Etape du Tour and Paris Roubaix, as well as organising international breaks and weekenders.
He said: "I’m extremely happy to be joining the team at Sportive Breaks. I have raced and trained abroad for most of my cycling career, so I feel I can understand the needs of the clients. I can’t wait to help create memorable trips."
Forbes Solicitors
Forbes Solicitors has appointed Gabriela Hammond in the newly created role of head of HR consultancy in Preston.
She said: "I’ve been part of a progressive organisation that really values HR as a strategic part of the day-to-day. This has provided me with a wealth of experience in terms of developing people-focused ways of working that boost staff retention and recruitment, and overall performance.

Bell Lamb & Joynson
Liverpool-based Bell Lamb & Joynson has expanded its client relationship team with the appointment of a new relationship manager, Andy Burke.
Mr Burke has worked in the legal and conveyancing sector for over 20 years in varying roles that have focused on developing and building key relationships with introducers and stakeholders.
He said: "I am thrilled to be working with such a dedicated and passionate team of experts and I am looking forward to nurturing and enhancing existing relationships with the firms established ambassador network."
Roxtec UK
Cable and pipe seal manufacturer Roxtec UK has added to its infrastructure and industry team with the appointment of Gavin Pettifor as technical sales advisor.
He joins the Greater Manchester-based business after spending several years in a similar role in the construction materials sector.
In his new position with Roxtec he will deliver support to the division’s sales team and business development managers. His role includes project mapping and research as well as identifying new business opportunities.
He said: "I’m really looking forward to developing my new role and the opportunities it presents. What attracted me to Roxtec was the breadth of sectors it works in.

Deloitte
Professional services firm Deloitte has expanded its North West team with three new partner appointments.
Katie Harrison has been promoted to partner in audit and assurance. In her new role, she will be responsible for advocating for the complimentary nature of audit and assurance.
After 14 years working across both the Manchester and London offices, Iain White has re-joined the firm as a partner in the financial advisory team.
Joining Deloitte’s Manchester office from South Africa, Marisa Geldenhuys makes up the trio of new partner appointments.
Andy Westbrook, practice senior partner for Deloitte in the North West, said: "We are thrilled to welcome our newest partners, Katie, Iain and Marisa, to the Manchester office.
"The experience and skillsets they bring to their new roles will be a great asset to the firm and the services we provide to our regional clients."
QASSS
Manchester-based QASSS, a resolution services provider to the home improvement and renewable energy sectors, has made two appointments.
Supply chain officer Matthew Walker and business development manager Colin Niblock have joined the company.
