Big four financial services firm Deloitte has appointed a new practice senior partner for the Midlands.
Juliet Halfhead, who is a tax specialist and partner leading its North and South Europe Reward Practice, has taken over from Jane Whitlock.
Ms Whitlock was appointed to the role in autumn 2018 and is now joining the Deloitte North and South Europe board.
Ms Halfhead was first recruited by Deloitte's Birmingham team in 2001 and has spent most of her career working there and in Nottingham, being promoted to partner in 2012.
She works with a range of listed companies in the UK and internationally as well as privately owned and private equity-backed businesses.
In her new role as senior partner, she will focus on the continued growth of the Birmingham and Nottingham teams, initially concentrating on innovation, talent and driving forward the firm's multi-disciplinary approach for clients.
She said: "I am passionate about the Midlands, the business ecosystem and local communities.
"Working in the region for the majority of my career, I know the Midlands is a great place to work and live and have witnessed its growth first-hand.
"We have a vibrant regional agenda that isn't in a static state and I'm proud of Deloitte's contribution to our local economy.
"The Midlands continues to benefit from innovative initiatives such as 5G and the upcoming Commonwealth Games presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to showcase what the Midlands has to offer and become a world-class destination for trade, investment and tourism, which can only further the region's reputation as a place to invest and grow."
During Ms Whitlock's four-year tenure, the Midlands practice has promoted 16 staff to the partnership while headcount has increased to more than 1,000.
She will now work with Ms Halfhead for a handover period for the next few weeks.
She said: "Juliet has built an enviable reputation among her clients, colleagues and peers and has an excellent knowledge of the local market.
"I am excited by her vision for Deloitte in the Midlands and will wholeheartedly support her in bringing that vision to life."
