Melbourne United coach Dean Vickerman has hailed Matthew Dellavedova's class in giving the NBL championship series MVP trophy away to rival player Will Hickey after Illawarra's game-five triumph.

Jeering rang out at WIN Entertainment Centre when NBL legend Larry Sengstock announced United guard Dellavedova as the series MVP despite his side's 114-104 loss in the decider on Sunday.
