A Deliveroo cyclist said he was "left for dead in the street for up to an hour" after being hit by a motorbike in a suspected hit-and-run.
Arthur Freitas, 23, was on his way home after finishing his shift and meeting with a friend when the collision took place.
Five hours later, he woke up in hospital surrounded by family and friends with no recollection of what had happened.
Arthur believes he was lying in the street "for up to an hour" before police found him and rushed him to hospital, reports MyLondon.
He said: "I locked up my bike, sat down with my friend... after a while, I said goodbye to my friend and I headed north.
"I was probably ten minutes from home when the accident happened, but I don't remember anything.
"It was an hour before anybody found me. I'm not sure how it happened."
Arthur suffered a number of injuries in the incident which took place in central London on October 25 as he made his way home to Islington.
They including a separated shoulder, broken knuckles and a dislocated left hip, as well as cuts and bruises across his body.
Although he remembers waking up, his family said he fell in and out of consciousness, and even thought Theresa May was still the Prime Minister at one point.
Arthur said: "I woke up and saw my best friend and family crying - my mental priority was to make sure everybody was okay. I wanted to give everyone mental peace.
"I didn't want to see my people have a worried face on them. This all happened until I met my best friend Rebecca, who suffered an accident six months ago.
"She told me I would start thinking about deep questions, about how I nearly died... so now I am just feeling very grateful."
Arthur is now recovering out of hospital, but is expected to be unable to work for at least another month.
His friends are appealing to the public to help him afford costs until he makes a full recovery and can get back to work on his bike.
They have launched a GoFundMe, which has raised over £600 of its £1,000 goal at the time of writing.
Arthur, also known as Tito, wrote on the fundraiser: "I've got a pretty big concussion as well as multiple cuts, bruises, stitches and injuries over my whole body.
"However your boy is all good! Still kicking and ready to go like always. However, I am gonna be a few weeks out of combat."
He added: "I appreciate it a lot, and would never ask if it wasn’t life or death, quite literally unfortunately."
The Mirror contacted the Met Police, which was unable to provide further information.
