Delhi: Scores duped on pretext of cheap phones

NEW DELHI: A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly duping people on the pretext of selling expensive phones at discounted rates.

Police said the accused, Anurag Katiyar, used to buy phones on EMIs and later sold them to customers without informing them about the loan.

DCP (north-west) Usha Rangnani said they received a complaint from a resident of Adarsh Nagar on July 19. Later, based on a tip-off, the accused was nabbed from Model Town. “Katiyar has duped over 50 people in the past two years. He is a native of Kanpur but keeps travelling to different cities across India,” police said.
