Heavy rain battered Delhi-NCR on Monday, triggering widespread waterlogging and traffic disruptions while also affecting flight operations. 15 Delhi-bound flights, including two international flights, were diverted, with 11 of them being redirected to Jaipur, according to a TOI report.
Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest flight updates. Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet have issues travel advisories asking passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
The weather office issued red and orange alerts for heavy to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and winds reaching up to 40 kmph.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms were reported across several parts of Delhi, including South East Delhi, East Delhi, Shahdara, Central Delhi, North East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South West Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi and North Delhi.
Air India said adverse weather conditions “may impact” flight operations to and from Delhi and urged passengers to check the latest flight status before heading to the airport.
