Delhi: Prostitution racket busted at hotel near IGI, 3 arrested

NEW DELHI: A prostitution racket has been busted at a hotel in Aerocity near IGI Airport and three people, including a woman, have been arrested.

The accused have been identified as Riyash Siddiqui alias Rajesh from Uttar Pradesh and Naveen Singh from Bihar. The woman’s identity was not disclosed by police. The accused have been booked under Immoral Trafficking Act.

A team led by ACP Bijender Singh and SHO Yashpal was formed after receiving information about the racket, DCP (airport) Sanjay Tyagi said. On reaching Aerocity, a decoy cop contacted the man whose number was provided by an informer. The cop was asked to book a room at a particular hotel, where the woman arrived with her agent, Singh.

Singh dropped the woman at the porch and took an advance. The woman also took money in advance from the decoy customer. On his direction, the raiding team entered the hotel room and the woman was apprehended, while another team caught the agent. They disclosed the identity of Siddiqui, who was also arrested. “A probe revealed that the accused had also taken a hotel on lease in Sector 45, Gurgaon and were running an organised prostitution racket in the NCR along with their other associates,” Tyagi said.

The customers used to approach brokers through common contacts and were sent women’s photos through WhatsApp. After receiving some token money, the broker dropped the woman at an agreed place, police said. A WagonR car, Rs 30,000 and three mobile phones have been seized. TNN
