NEW DELHI: On the first day of the enforcement drive, most places in the city saw buses following lane discipline. While the move proved to be a boon in almost all parts of the city, it caused traffic snarls in areas like Burari, Wazirabad and Najafgarh.
Apart from 138 enforcement teams deployed for successful implementation of the drive, civil defence volunteers were stationed at bus stops to ensure that vehicles stopped at their designated places. Traffic officers said it would be tough to say if the drive was a success because bus drivers usually disobey lane rules. Transport minister Kailash Gahlot was present at Jagatpur bus stand on Outer Ring Road to review the drive.
