NEW DELHI: The AAP government has approved a proposal to withdraw 17 cases registered against farmers during their protest against the now-repealed farm laws last year, an official said on Tuesday.
Of the 54 cases registered against protesting farmers, Delhi Police has identified these 17 cases as fit to be withdrawn, and sent the proposal to the lieutenant governor this January. Before placing the file before home minister Satyendar Jain, the additional chief secretary (home) had sought views of the law department and even consulted the Union home ministry, said sources.
