NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) shut all gates of four metro stations on Friday citing ‘security reasons’. At 12.19 pm, DMRC tweeted that “Due to security reasons, Gate No. 1 at ITO Metro Station and Gate No. 1 & 2 at Dhansa Bus Stand metro station are closed, all other gates are operational.”
However, in less than 10 minutes, all gates of Dhansa Bus Stand metro station were closed. In the next 15 minutes, all gates of the ITO metro station, and then Delhi Gate and Jama Masjid metro stations were closed to commuters too.
While all gates for entry and exit were opened at the Delhi Gate and Jama Masjid metro stations at 12.48 pm, the Dhansa Bus Stand metro station was opened for commuters at 1.52 pm. The ITO metro station, however, was opened to the public only at 4.02 pm.
