NEW DELHI: This year, perhaps due to the unusually high day temperatures and dry weather conditions, calls to Delhi Fire Service have gone up compared with alerts last year in the same period. This month till April 13, the fire department has received 1,743 calls, mostly about garbage and house fires and electrical short circuits.
DFS data shows that in 2020, there were as many as 14,785 fire incidents reported from the capital, including minor ones. In 2021, the fire service received and attended to 15,687 calls about fires, big and small.
