Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has heaped praise on Mohamed Salah after his six-minute hat-trick against Rangers on Wednesday evening.
The Reds' forward has come under criticism in recent weeks after a slow start to the season by his standards, which has seen the Egyptian score two Premier League goals in eight appearances.
Salah hit back at his critics in style at Ibrox, however, finding the back of the net three times in six minutes and 12 seconds. By doing so, the 30-year-old now holds the record of the quickest-ever Champions League treble.

One individual who was paying close attention to his display was his ex-team-mate, Lovren, who was a close friend of the Reds' talisman during their time together at the club. Taking to Twitter in response to Salah's impressive showing, the Croatian defender tweeted: "15min of playing time, hat trick from @MoSalah! Haters, just continue. Only the opposite will happen. Well done LFC." Also paying respect to Roberto Firmino, Lovren added: "Firmino TOP! Enjoyable to watch him. Bravo Bobi."
The three goals scored by Salah now means he is the joint top-scorer in this season's Champions League alongside Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski and has put Jurgen Klopp's side on the cusp of progression to the knockout stages. A point against Ajax on October 26 would be enough to book Liverpool's place in the last 16 of the competition.
